Bio
Matan Yosef is a talented arranger, composer, and pianist based in Israel. At just 23 years old, he has already made significant strides in the music world, showcasing his expertise in jazz, pop, and soul. Matan received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he is currently pursuing a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production.
Matan has done his millitary service as an outstanding musician and during his service studied in Rimon School of music and graduated with honors the Jazz Institue.
His passion for music has led him to work with independent artists, choirs, bands, and large ensembles, providing arrangements and original compositions for live performances and studio recordings. Matan specializes in crafting intricate arrangements for various ensembles. His background in music production includes extensive experience with Logic, Pro Tools, and Cubase.
Matan's professional work includes arranging and performing at the Jaffa Jazz Festival, as well as arranging a song for the Shirimon competition at Rimon School of Music, which reached the finals. He also had the opportunity to perform in the children’s play Library Lion, which is still running in theaters, collaborating closely with renowned Israeli composer Yoni Rechter, who composed the music for the production.
With experience in music education for dozens of children and adults, he has prepared students for auditions, recitals, and admission to music programs.
As a perfectionist, Matan is dedicated to meeting the needs of his clients, ensuring their musical vision comes to life. His musical influences include Israeli artists like Shlomo Gronich, Yoni Rechter, and Hadorbanim, as well as international musicians such as Jacob Collier and Louis Cole.
Matan is continuing to work in the industry as an arranger, composer and a performer and will be releasing new music and collaborating with interesting musicians..
Musical Journey
Matan Yosef's musical journey began at the age of 9 when he picked up the guitar to accompany his singing. At 13, he started learning piano, and after teaching himself for a year, he began producing and arranging for large ensembles and recording original songs. In eighth grade, he began studying music theory, diving into classical harmony and advanced ear training. His participation in a musical ensemble during middle school allowed him to arrange pieces for the group and perform his original songs in front of an audience.
During high school at Alon High School in Ramat Hasharon, Matan continued to develop his skills, arranging for the ensembles he played in and performing original songs with a full band, including wind players and backing vocalists. He deepened his studies in classical harmony and advanced theory, analyzing Bach chorales and advanced jazz harmonies. His commitment to music continued during his military service, where he was recognized as an outstanding musician.
As an outstanding musician, Matan was able to attend Rimon School of Music while serving in the military. This opportunity allowed him to further his education and hone his arranging and composing abilities alongside his service duties. His experiences have shaped him into a versatile musician, adept at working across genres and collaborating with various artists. Today, Matan is dedicated to producing songs he has composed and arranged while continuing to write and arrange for both small and large ensembles.
